Experienced. Qualified. In your corner.
SEND law? Check. SEND expert? Check. Vast school experience? Check. I've also lived this as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent adult myself, and the parent and grandparent of neurodivergent children. I know what it costs to hold all of this together - I've held it too.
Working inside schools for three decades taught me something most parents never get to see. Good SEND practice exists - I've seen and helped it change children's lives. But I've also seen how easily good intentions get lost between a meeting room and a classroom because schools are working within a system that doesn't always give them the time, training or resource to follow through consistently.
That gap, between what's agreed and what actually happens, is where families get stuck. Understanding that gap, and how to close it, is what SEND Basecamp is built around.
I know what it's like to sit across the table from professionals and feel your own instincts start to slip away under the weight of their confidence. I know what it's like to trust that support is happening, only to discover months later that it never quite reached the classroom.
SEND Basecamp is about creating independence. It's about building agency that lasts long after any programme, or advocate input, ends.
SEND families are stronger with the knowledge, the systems and the genuine support to navigate their child's SEND journey themselves, alongside someone experienced who understands both what should happen and what actually does. There are points when parents need someone to take over, and I'm here for that too.
SEND Basecamp isn't the hero of this story. You are, the families, the ones willing to build their own capability, and hold systems accountable with clarity instead of guesswork.
My aim is to build a movement of families who are successful SEND Navigators, giving their children the best possible chance to thrive and make progress. I'd love to help you become one of them.
