FAQ

Choosing to invest in your child's future is a big decision. Here are the thoughts and questions parents ask me most.

I'm already so busy, I don't have any more time.

I know how little time is left over once school, work, appointments and everything else your family needs from you is accounted for. But you're already spending time on this, the worrying, the late-night researching, going over the same conversation in your head. SEND Basecamp doesn't ask you to find new time, it redirects the time you're already giving this into something that actually moves your child's situation forward. Every Basecamp Build feeds straight into your Navigator Portfolio so nothing is wasted effort.

My child's situation is too complicated.

No two children, schools or journeys look the same, and yours won't either. That's exactly why SEND Basecamp is built around your own child, your own school, your own priorities. Nothing generic, nothing borrowed from someone else's situation. And with thirty years in education and fourteen in SEND leadership, I've supported families at almost every stage of this journey there is, so whatever's happening in yours, I know how to help you move it forward.

I don't think my child's situation is serious enough for this.

There's no threshold you need to cross before your concerns count. Some families join because things have already reached crisis point. Others join because their child seems to be coping, but comes home exhausted, or is quietly not making the progress they're capable of, before anything has gone wrong. Wherever you are, your concerns are reason enough to want clarity now.

I've already tried everything.

You've probably read more about SEND than most people ever will. What's often missing isn't more information, it's the map, the insider knowledge of how schools and systems actually work, not just what they're supposed to do. That's what SEND Basecamp gives you.

I don't have a good relationship with school.

That's more common than you might think, and it doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. SEND Basecamp helps you rebuild structure and trust into those conversations, so you're working from evidence and partnership, not history and frustration.

I don't want to damage my relationship with school.

Neither do I. This is built on partnership before escalation. You'll learn how to ask sharper, braver questions while keeping the relationships that matter.

I always get emotional, or angry, when I communicate with school.

That reaction makes complete sense. You're not just discussing paperwork, you're fighting for your child, often after months of feeling unheard. Nobody should have to apologise for that.  SEND Basecamp won't ask you to switch your feelings off. It gives you the preparation, structure and language that make it easier to stay steady in the moment, so your emotion becomes part of your strength, not something used against you.

I'm not sure if I'm confident enough.

Confidence isn't something you need to arrive with. It grows, week by week, as your understanding and your Portfolio grow alongside it.

I'm neurodivergent myself - or think I might be.

You're far from alone, many parents on this journey are, whether that's been recognised yet or not. I'm neurodivergent too, diagnosed later in life, and I understand exactly how much harder this system's demands, the organising, the remembering, the emotional regulation, can feel when your own executive function is already stretched thin. SEND Basecamp is built with that reality in mind, structured and paced to reduce overwhelm, not add to it.

I can't afford the cost.

I understand £497 is a real amount of money to find. Specialist advocacy has real value for a single, specific issue, but ongoing support for complex or long-running situations often costs considerably more than that over time, and that's before the emotional cost of facing each new issue alone as it arises.  SEND Basecamp is a one-off investment in the knowledge and system to navigate every stage of your child's journey still ahead, not just what's in front of you right now. And £497 is founder pricing, it rises to £997 once this cohort closes - it won't be repeated.

I just don't have the money right now.

SEND Basecamp offers a pay in installments option

What if I still need an advocate afterwards?

SEND Basecamp helps you recognise exactly when you can navigate confidently on your own, and when a situation genuinely calls for more specialist support. If that time comes, you'll know precisely what you need and how to ask for it. Feel free to check my advocacy page.

This is the school's job, not mine. They should already be doing this.

You're right, and I understand that frustration completely. It's what led me to create SEND Basecamp. Schools and Local Authorities carry real legal responsibilities, and where those aren't being met, that matters. SEND Basecamp doesn't let anyone off the hook. It helps you understand exactly what should be happening, recognise when it isn't, and know how to hold the right people accountable, calmly and effectively.

If any of these feel unresolved, or you're still deciding whether this is right for your family, I will be offering free 20 minute Navigator calls as soon as enrolment opens
